Following the completion of the Nongfu Spring Huangshan production base, Obermeyer designed its 3,536 m² internal public areas to integrate industrial tourism, brand display, and interactive experiences. The design offers a “water-seeking journey” that reflects Nongfu Spring’s core value of living in harmony with nature.

Design Concept

Drawing inspiration from Mount Huangshan’s landscape and the brand’s “natural and healthy” philosophy, the team incorporated bamboo, water, stone, natural colors, folded panels, and façade features to create a modern yet nature-infused atmosphere. The spatial narrative traces the water journey—from source search and production to tasting and health learning, creating a cohesive immersive experience. Each zone flows naturally into the next, guiding visitors through a story that is both educational and sensory.

Spatial Experience

Reception Hall:

A floor-to-ceiling product display wall highlights Nongfu Spring’s signature drinking water. Suspended lamp posts, resembling cascading water, guide visitors upstairs to explore the natural water source. The combination of natural stone textures and warm timber tones establishes a welcoming entry point that immediately connects visitors with the brand’s essence.

Exhibition Hall & Auditorium:

On the second floor, an independent audio-visual hall sits at a 45‑degree angle, creating a winding exhibition path. A chandelier and streamlined booths enhance flow, while the hall’s curved walls offer a comfortable viewing environment. This layout encourages exploration, with each turn revealing new content—from water source protection to the science of bottling.

Visitor Corridor:

The 9‑meter‑wide walkway features a flowing floor design and light strips, evoking water movement. Visitors slow down at strategic pauses to appreciate craftsmanship details. Interactive panels along the walls provide deeper insights into the manufacturing process, making the corridor both a passage and a learning space.

Water Tasting Area:

A tasting table with tempered glass resembles a conveyor belt, allowing visitors to sample products as if taking them directly from the production line. This hands-on experience reinforces the brand’s commitment to quality and freshness, creating a memorable moment that bridges observation and participation.

Visitor Shop:

The final stop uses warm bamboo and wood tones with vibrant fabric seating, creating a casual shopping and rest area. Display units follow the flow line, and the color palette echoes exterior elements. Here, visitors can purchase souvenirs while reflecting on their journey, ending the experience on a relaxed note.

Staff Restaurant:

Timber finishes paired with crisp white foster a cozy dining atmosphere. An open layout and layered lighting elevate quality, reflecting employee care and brand values. Large windows frame views of the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the connection between interior comfort and natural beauty.

From reception to restaurant, the design weaves brand culture into industrial aesthetics, combining light timber, bamboo, and natural tones. Every material choice and spatial arrangement supports both functionality and visual harmony.

In conclusion, the interior design integrates industrial tourism with brand culture, creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing facility. It offers a memorable “water‑seeking journey” that sets a new benchmark for branded industrial tourism in China. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform an industrial building into a destination that educates, engages, and inspires.
