A Benchmark for the Changzhou HSR New City
Changzhou, a vibrant and livable city in Jiangsu Province, China famed for its robust manufacturing industry and excellent transportation links, is fostering its High-Speed Railway (HSR) New City as a core engine for urban upgrading and regional development.
On December 26th, 2025, Wuyue Plaza at Changzhou Starry City officially opened, marking a key operational milestone for Xinlong Lake International Financial Plaza (Starry City). Co-developed by OBERMEYER and GFDesign, the 554,000 m² mixed-use complex in Changzhou’s HSR New City core integrates commerce, hotels, apartments, and offices, perfectly filling the area’s core functional gap.
As early as 2020, Obermeyer partnered with Southeast University Urban Planning and Design Institute on the Detailed Urban Design for the HSR New City’s core area. Leveraging rich TOD expertise, it blended international advanced concepts with local cultural features to practice the integrated development of "Station–City–Lake".
As a key initial project, Wuyue Plaza propels Starry City to achieve full functional operation smoothly. This iconic project not only boosts the HSR New City’s construction pace but also sets a fine example for industry-urban integration in Changzhou.
