Gamechanger in track surveying

At the moment additional data collection for rail infrastructure projects requires access to the tracks during regular rail operations. Due to the use of manual methods this claims a long period of time in which the safety of the acting persons cannot be ensured.

This raises the question of how to improve the data collection process for rail infrastructure projects. Marc Kückmann, Maximilina Bade and Steffen Scharun deal with exactly this in “Digitalised planning, construction and infrastructure management” in the international ETR.
